Help Needed for Jagannatham & Mahesh -35 Years Suffering with LGMD (Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy) at Rampura village, Medak District

7th June, 2014

Last Sunday 7th June, 2014 our Volunteer Mr. Naresh Kumar visited their home and Donated a Newly Purchased Fridge for their business needs. We have waited couple of months to get the same from Coco-Cola, but we didn't. So Mr. Srikanth, who donated 15000/- for this purpose has advised to purchase a New Refrigerator. Its costs nearly 14,000/- Including Transportation and We have given 1,600/- cash for their medical expenses.

Our special thanks to Mr. Srikanth.Kidambi & his friends for donating such an amount which provides livelihood to a family.

Our Volunteer Naresh told me that  he is unable to explain the happiness & gratitude expressed through eyes by their family members after our donation in words. Once again our special thanks to Mr. Srikanth & his friends for extending their contribution for the livelihood of a needy family.
25th February, 2014

We have received the following suggestions in order to get the same thing for Free or at lesser Cost:
  1. We can get the suitable fridge- if we know any Coco-Cola Dealer (if not for free, we will try to pay nominal amount)
  2. We can get Seconds from Electronic Shops where many are exchanging their old ones
  3. Even we purchase the new one it’s difficult to transport it to the destination. Even transportation companies take care of Packing but not the product
  4. New goods which has slight damages also sold at lesser prize.

Purchasing a new one is not a big deal, but we can purchase Groceries and stationery to them with the same amount.

It’s already getting late, so please respond. Even you can extend any help directly to their family too with intimation to us.

Destitute (Ravi Kumar) taken for Treatment

Hi
Sri Jyothi garu, IDPL, Chinthal, who read about in News Paper, called us regarding a Destitute who is at the Bus Stop with Leg Injury. They are feeding him daily with Food packets but as a lady she is unable to go in depth to collect details. So on 19th May, 2014 Mr. Naveen Kumar & Naresh Kumar visited the person to assess the situation.

Based on the conversation they found that he used to work as Watchmen in IDPL and has some circle of friends. He is full of self esteem/confidence/Ego what we can call is in our hands. His native is near Amalapuram and family is also staying there. He said he is OK and he wont come to any where. He also said previously he stayed in a home for few days and returned due to disputes with other inmates. Our volunteers advised him to come with us for treatment and then we can join in a old age home. He said another NGO from Sanga Reddy promised him to take to home in couple of days. So our volunteers returned by advising the Jyothi gari relatives to contact us if he is still there after weekdays. .

On 27th May, 14 our Volunteer Vikram taken him to Govt Ayurvedic Hospital, ESI from IDPL. We admitted him as in patient (I.P). Sravan and Haritha went there to support him. When the Volunteers came out he used to create disturbance in the ward. Even he used rash words with volunteers. He is unable to Walk also so doctors advised to take him out if our volunteers unable to stay there as attender.  We requested them to give permission to stay there till 5PM.

Then we talked to Sankar Garu of Amma Nanna Anadha Saranalayam, Choutuppal and taken permission to join him. But Ravi Kumar is refused to join in the home. We tried hard to convince him. He asked some days to decide. So we decided to taken them back to his place and do regular dressing for his wounds. .

After 15 days we gain wants to discuss reg joining him in a home. Meanwhile we also decided to send a letter to the address given by him to know the realities. He is saying many things and we are unable to judge whether those are correct or not. He said he don't have the phone nos of his family. Based on the different conditions prevailing outside we want to wait for the reply at least for couple of weeks then take a decision.

Thanks to Vikram, Sravan & Haritha for their patience in doing this. Vikram will visit and do the dressing once he returned from his native place. Meanwhile we have given Tabs and dressing material, as he is able to do dressing on his own. We will get back to you with the current status in few days.

Whether we are able to succeed or not, we tried. That is the spirit of ASWA volunteers. We always ready to do what we can.

Service to Mankind is Service to God. Kudos to Volunteers.

We are very proud to have Volunteers, Donors and Supporters who are extending their valuable support throughout ASWA's journey. We know how important their support is. Few are able to extend their support by their active and direct participation in the activities and some extended their financial support and some other shared their suggestions and feedbacks for ASWA rapid growth. Thanks to one and all. It's our pleasure to remind and recollect all the SUPPORTERS of ASWA, which caused us to step into 7 successful years in Serving & Helping Others.

Our 6th Anniversary celebrations showcased the Collective Dedicated & Disciplined Efforts of our Members, who are very determined to make the society a very happy place to live.

Speeches of the following honorable guests indeed inspired and motivated every one. We are very fortunate to listen to their golden words. There are no words to speak about speakers.  Our desire of doing noble deeds taken new path with their Straight, Firing and Touching Words. ASWA - BEST BLOOD DONOR APPRECIATION AWARDS

Hi,

To appreciate "Regular Blood Donors" who are donating blood regularly for Thalassemia Children and to create more awareness about Blood Donations, this year, we introduced "BEST BLOOD DONOR APPRECIATION AWARDS".  We have conducted 13 blood donation camps till now, in which one is at Ananthapuramu and another is at ECIL, excluding these total camps are 11. Our Management Board decided to select those who Donated blood regularly for more than 7 Times out of 11 in all camps or who donated 4 times in our last 5 camps. Fortunately we got 10 members, who are regularly doing it. There is no word to appreciate their dedication in regular blood donations to save little Thalassemia children.

From Next year, our criteria to select "Best Blood Donor" will be those who donated 4 out of 4 Camps.  Generally we conduct blood camp for every 3 months, so in a year we can conduct 4 Camps. So the persons who donate blood in all the camps will be our BEST DONOR.  Little Thalassemia Child knows how important ONE UNIT OF BLOOD is (either 1 time or regular) and ASWA & TSCS knows how difficult to find that 1 donor.  From this you can analyze how valuable a person, who is DONATING BLOOD REGULARLY.  We feel it's the right stage and right time to express our gratitude to all the regular blood donors, on behalf of little Thalassemia children. This is the story behind these "BEST BLOOD DONOR APPRECIATION AWARDS". It's not possible for us to appreciate others who donate directly in the Thalassemia Society or somewhere else, as we don't have data for those donations.

For us every donor and volunteer is equal and important, these awards are just to recognize the persons who stretched with an extra inch. ASWA is always proud to have those Blood Donors and volunteers with us. Hope all our Blood Donors will motivate more Blood Donors for the next camps.

Thalassemia Society have 2000+ Children who needs blood transfusion for every 10-15 Days, means they totally need 4000 units of Blood. Just imagine how many camps we need to conduct to reduce the deficit. So this is the right time for all of us to work collectively for a common and noble cause.

Let us decide and start of donating blood regularly for every 3 months from our end, we don't requires thousands to react at a time, our 1 initiation initially gives 15 more days life to a Thalassemic child.

You all know "Blood cannot be manufactured. It can only come as a gift from people like you."

List of ASWA Best Blood Donors
