SHARE & CARE PROJECT for September month --- Vivekananda Seva Sangham

From: srikanth murukutla <murukutlasrikanth@gmail.comDate: Mon, Oct 25, 2010 at 11:48 PM

Dear all,

Yesterday we have visited " VIVEKANANDA SEVA SANGHAM". We reached the place by 10.30 am(app). As like a coincidence a few of the volunteers came from "ORACLE" and have conducted drawing competitions for children and some more games for old people. During their events we have spent some time with children as well as old people. Afterwards we asked Srimathi Vijaya garu (Coordinator) and Sri Raja ram garu(Founder) and her wife regarding wear abouts of the home. They responded positively and  shared every thing with us.

ABOUT THE HOME:Coming to the home details founder of the home is Sri M.P.R.V.Raja rao garu is a very kind hearted person. In 1982, he donated his money up to 15 lakhs to construct the home in his own land.Under the " VIVEKANANDA SEVA SANGHAM" he is running "OM SAI SEVASHRAM: HOME FOR THE AGED",   "OM SAI SEVASHRAM: HOME FOR ORPHANS AND MERITORIOUS POOR CHILDREN".

OM SAI SEVASHRAM: HOME FOR THE AGED: They are taking care about 38 old people. Out of the these people there are three categories of people are residing over there. Some are paying full amount, some are paying partial amount and some are by free of cost.
OM SAI SEVASHRAM: HOME FOR THE AGED: Around 12 poor semi orphans are studying under this home.

Apart from the above, with govt. support they are looking over 7 units which are situated at different parts of HYDERABAD. Each unit contains 10 to 15 labor children of less than 10 yrs. They recruited 1 teacher for each unit and providing education and mid-day meals to children.

NECESSATIES REQUIRED: A compound wall is required for the home and we can support some children by paying the school fees.

It was a great experience with those inspiring people.

Participated volunteers:

B.Bhargavi
T.Uma shankar
K.Veerabhadran
M.N.R.R.V.Srikanth.

My sincere thanks one and all which made this event a grand success.

Re: Food Distribution at NTR Cancer Hospital by Vasundhara Garu of SEVA-My Participation and Plans

Hi Friends…

Happy Dussera in advance…..

Last Wednesday (13.10.10) I took a part in Food Donation and counseling program by Vasundhara Garu (SEVA NGO) at Nandamuri Basavatarakam (NTR) Cancer Hospital, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. She distributes food packets to patient and their attendees who are staying at Dharmashala by paying Rs.12/- per day. Here, we can see people from surrounding villages and even from far distance places/areas for treatment (like radiation and other cancer related) which requires more than one day stay at this hospital.  Poor and needy who unable to pay higher rents will stay here at Dharma Shala (which is constructed with the help of Sri Yalamanchali. Nageswara Rao Garu) by paying Rs.12/- rent per day.

This day she distributed around 130 Foods Packets (which consisted of White Rice, Saambaar and two pickles) at Dharmashala and remaining to other poor & needy. After this Distribution she went to each and every patient and/or their attendees and motivated them in order to remove fear about cancer and its treatment along with food habits which is useful the patients. I really inspired and stunned a lot for her deeds and acts. For her it costs monthly around Rs.12000 to 15000/- (4/5 Wednesdays in month).

She advised us to plan any breakfast/snacks/fruits/food donation at this place one day per week on regular basis. We can distribute 2 idles or even a small/big milk bread or food or biscuit packets, fruits per head. She is also ready to contribute some part in our distribution project also.

After this visit, in my opinion, it is very useful to go for the any of the above by taking approval of other active members. I have even thoughts of visit Usmania Hospital & Gandhi Hospital or even NIMS where we can see more numbers of such poor and needy people and select any the above for this project. I am sure that we can reach many poor and needy in these hospitals.

We even go for distribution of old clothes after having a proper plan.We can see many sad faces here who are fear of cancer and/or its treatment. One old lady cried in front of her with a fear about the treatment, she gained some strength after Vasundhara Gari kind words.

Please kindly revert with your suggestions, feed backs and advices. Meanwhile I will visit other hospitals too and update you the status.

I am very much thankful to Sri.Vasundhara Garu of SEVA for giving me this great opportunity. She is doing this activity by taking prior approval from hospital authorities. Many other kind hearts are distributing food at this places on other week days.

Hi, All

Last Sunday (03/10/2010), we have visited Bala Rakshak Foundation; we have reached BRF at around 11.15 AM. Recently BRF has shifted to new location, which is nearer to the old location. We had a chat with Ajay regarding daily activities of children.

We heard positive words from Ajay, at the same time we asked about Moulali, who was admitted by AMMA. Ajay replied that he has recently given warning for his improper behavior; at last Moulali gave assurance for not doing any improper activity which would impact negatively on remaining children behavior.

Later we played some games with children, enjoyed a lot; finally we handed over a Fan to Ajay, which was donated by our active volunteer Mr. Ranganath. We returned at around 12.30 PM

Visit to "The Home For Orphan Students" on 02-10-2010

Hi all,

Hope all are doing well. Here I would like to convey you about our visit to "The Home For Orphan Students" on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi. We have been there to distribute the old clothes which were collected earlier by our group members to the students of that home.

At present there are 36 students in that home. We reached there by 1pm around to give the old clothes. Then we asked the students about their willingness and free time to participate in the essay writing and elocution competitions. They respond very positively and asked us to plan it on last sunday of this month.

It was the same great experience what I had when I visit the same home on the eve of New year 2010. Thanks for giving this opportunity to me.

Its nice to see ur efforts in exposing our AMMA to more NGO's in the same field. The information you have collected is very very useful and will definitely help to spread our wings to more wider ranges.

We can work with these groups so as to learn more and help one another......Connecting to and working with like-minded people/groups is always a great and enjoyable task.

Its very unfortunate for me to miss the opportunity to met & greet many inspiring personalities and groups in social service.

We,AMMA-ASWA, Once again thankful to your useful information and kind efforts in meeting and greeting these people.
