Fwd: Mother Theresa Home and Home for Aged- A report

Dear Friends,

Quote : To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to put the family in order we must first put the family in order and we must first cultivate our personal life; we must first set our hearts right.

  1. 1.       As per our scheduled weekly visit, Sunday i.e. 13.12.2009, we went to Mother Theresa home, Opp Gandhi Hospital, Mushirabad, Hyderabad at 4.00pm and distributed Old cloths to them. It was a very emotional and nice visit.

About the Home

In Mother Teresa Home there are around 200 members are there from different places. Some are mentally challenged and some are physically challenged persons. They pick these destitute from Roads and some other places, who are orphans and even  unable to do their own works.

The management is very nice and very co-operative. They will take all our members to every place in that home and explained how the things are going in that home.

Our members did prayer along with the Sisters for few minutes.  After that we saw a beautiful and heart touching seen in that home. I.e. One family came to home with their 80 years mother and they were treating her like an 8 months baby. He sat on wheel chair and they sang songs along with sisters for their mother. She also joined with them and the happiness and satisfaction we saw in that Grand Mothers face is marvelous. This situation is a very heart touching and never forgettable.

This incident is certainly an EYE OPENER to many of us. We should learn how to treat our parents even when they are sick. Thanks to the GROUP who made this possible.  We learnt a thing that our parents or any one in their old age will only need our love, few minutes chat and relationship rather than money or luxuries.

I felt very happy from this incident, when my mind immediately reaches my parents lap. My sincere thanks to AMMA GROUP for giving me a chance to see a different world. I am decided to say sorry for my parents if I did anything wrong in my life journey and it was very heart touching and never forgettable one to me.

  1. 2.       Fortunately, on the way to home, we went to another home i.e. HOME FOR OLD AGE, which is very nearer to Mother Theresa Home. We stunned after watching the maintenance of this home.  The atmosphere is calm and surroundings are clean. It was started in 1903.  Sisters are treating every one like their Children.

Carrier Guidance for Students

Hi Team,

It’s time for all of you to take part of AMMA Activities. We are conducting regular weekly classes in slums, which needs regular volunteers so it may not be possible for most of us to participate. For all those who are not able to grasp that opportunity, here is a chance to participate actively ….

We planned to conduct "Carrier Guidance for Students" in High Schools (for 8th, 9th and 10th classes). Which is a onetime program i.e. activity at one school for a period of 2/3 hours. In this we are planning to conduct Essay Writing and Elocution Competitions and conducting awareness classes like Goals setting, Carrier Options and Value of Life etc., which includes both Personality and Carrier Development contents.

As it is only 2 hours program you can participate in any program. We are planning to visit one school in a month. So you can participate in any day.

You can also identify your nearby school and we will plan the same in that school. Then it will be very easy for you to participate. Based on their response our further activities in that school will be planned.

We started this mainly to help students to come out from their fear and to open up. From this their creativity and vision towards life will be increased. This helps students to gain knowledge on specific tasks.

We also Plant at least 5 Trees in every School we visited and motivate the children in such a way to look after the growth regularly. From which we can also save earth from Global Warming and also create awareness about PLANTATION and Global Warming to the students practically.

So through this small activity there are many benefits to students. So please come forward.

This is purely Volunteer based activity. It is successful only with your active participation. You can revert with your views or suggestions.

ANADHA VIDYARTHI GRIHA

Hi Friends,

Due to some reasons the scheduled program of  Mother Theresa Home Visit has been cancelled  and  We planned immediately to Visit ANADHA VIDYARTHI GRIHA, Kothapet. We totally 5 members went to that place at 5.45pm and distributed the Old Clothes to the students. Here the student's response is very much impressed and the home is very much discipline and one more thing the home is organized by the students only.
They are very much self-discipline and the way of talking is nice. We are interacted with the students and we learn so many things. With out having anything they are getting so much of satisfaction with their self-discipline. But we have everything we can't get anything.

About AVG:

This was started in 1919 and Registered in 1952. At present this home giving support to the 75 students in that some are Orphans/semi- orphans/poor students and  they give support for Inter, Degree and PG students. Firstly they conduct one test for those who want to join in that home, if the person qualify that test, they will join the student otherwise no question about it.

After becoming a member of that Home the management will bare all the expenditure of their education, food and shelter with free of cost. They give one authentication letter  to the students and  with that letter he can join in any college and the college management also by seeing that letter, without any objection they can give seat  in their college. Here, we can guess the value of that Organization. Now so many students are studying B.Tech in private institutions with free of cost.

Daily Activities of  Students

Morning 4.00 -5.30 Regular Activities
               5.30 – 6.00 Meditation

For every activity they have register and everyone should enter the details in that register. Highlight is that every activity is managed by students only, cooking, cleaning and receiving outsiders everything will be done by students only.

Finally, every member of ASWA should visit this organization to know the value of life and self–discipline.

EKAM-Organization/NGO

Courtesy: Uday Bhaskar, Lending Hands

EKAM is an Org formed by group of doctors. They are conducting an
event called Medi-Melody this weekend to generate some funds for
financial aid to few children. In order to organize this event, they
need few volunteers who can help them handle the audience and the
participants.

About :

We are basically working for the healthcare of underprevileged
children in Chennai,Virudhunagar & Madurai districts in India by
working with Orphanages,Slums, ICDS centres & Corporation, Government
& Government aided schools through Mafoi foundation by name EKAM -
ONENESS community pediatric health project.

We are also happy to inform you that Ekam community pediatric health
project, has been changed into a Public private partnership model by
joining hands with the government health department.

Ekam is planned to float off as a seperate organisation this month.

Children by definition for us is below 19yrs. We admit poor children
in private hospitals with whom we have networked and reimburse the
subsidies given by them.We also rent ventilators to Govt. hospitals so
that many lives can be saved .

We need support for the secondary & tertiary care of the children
admitted in pvt.hospitals, renting ventilators , lab support &
medicines for the children of ICH on a long term basis so that a lot
of poor children in in the Govt. hospitals can be saved.
The budget is coming to approximately Rs.4 lakhs a month in Chennai

We are planning to conduct a fund raising musical event for Ekam.

EKAM's aim is to complement the existing Government system and not
replace it. Ultimately no child should be refused of health care
because of financial constraints, no parent should feel guilty of not
able to give adequate health care & no doctor or hospital should feel
guilty of refusing patients because of financial constraints.

Looking forward to your support,

With best regards,

NIMH (National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped)

Hi All

Hi all

I am back again after very hard journey of nearly one month. It is my pleasure to appreciate and convey my thanks to all the Active Volunteers who run this Group successfully throughout my absence (of course in all the time). Their immediate response toward FLOOD VICTIMS AND THE RELIEF ACTIVITIES REGARDING THIS is tremendous.

This is where success of group depends. Every member has to take the responsibility of their own group activities. You are the one who proved this with your timely decisions and support as you are extending all the time from the origin of the Group.

Once again thanks to one and all for their excellent services and efforts.

They also designed and released "BLOG" for our "AMMA Activities". This is very helpful to all of us to know our activities and updated with a Single Click. This "BLOG" is more than one month continuous efforts of Mr.T.Uma Shankar. We have to appreciate for his dedication in developing this.

I am requesting all of you to kindly fill the following forms in our BLOG, which is very useful for speedy dissemination of information.

·        Your details in "Enrolled Members" form under "Membership" head
·        Your details in "Blood Donation" form under "Blood Donors" head
·        Please subscribe to "GOOGLE SMS CHANNEL" (at the top right of blog) (after subscription you will get FREE SMS about AMMA updates)

Love all - Serve all

Further we are thinking about planning for distributing books to the school going children in any flood affected village where there is a need.

Once again let's not only talk, show concern rather act collectively and effectively to support the needy.Let's all pray for the faster rehabilitation and speedy recovery of the flood ravaged families.

The program is very successful and we had a great pleasure to do this to the needy. Finally being a member of the team I'm thankful to each and every person of the team for giving me this wonderful opportunity.
